Whether the question is a partner, a family matter or an employee, the process at Paddington Central is identical: an unhurried pre-test interview to agree the exact questions, a recorded examination running to three or more charts, and a plain English result backed by the charts it was scored from.
People bring us the same three things: a relationship, a family, a business. Across our offices, about four in five bookings are relationship tests, and it is often the person who has been doubted who books, because they want the doubt answered by something other than their own word. Then the theft investigations, where money has gone somewhere it should not have. Now and then, a family accusation that has outlived whatever evidence there was.
One from another of our offices this spring, with the details changed. A couple. The accusation had not come from her; it had arrived as a message from somebody else, and once it was in the house it would not leave. He booked the test himself, late one evening, and took it two days later. She waited in reception. Questions agreed with him word for word, three charts, no deception indicated, and the preliminary result explained to them both, at his request, before they left. They went home together, which is not always how it goes.
Bring photo ID and your confirmation email, which tells you what to say at reception. Leave the rest at home: the questions are agreed with you at the office, and nothing is recorded until they are.
By tube: the Bakerloo line runs direct from Harrow & Wealdstone, Kenton and Wembley Central to Paddington, around 25 minutes, no changes. From Harrow-on-the-Hill, Northwick Park or Pinner take the Metropolitan line to Baker Street and change to the Bakerloo line for Paddington. At Paddington, use the exit next to the Circle and District line exit; the office is a short walk from there.
By car: the A40 corridor takes 35 to 50 minutes depending on traffic, with paid parking at the APCOA Paddington Station Car Park. Paddington Central is outside the Congestion Charge zone; the ULEZ covers all of Greater London, so check your vehicle before you set off. From Harrow the Bakerloo line is the easy way in.

Often, yes. Availability on the booking page is live, and short-notice slots appear regularly. Given the 25 minute Bakerloo link, you can realistically book in the morning and be tested the same week, sometimes sooner.
No, provided you fully understand the questions, which the pre-test interview is designed to guarantee. Questions are short, factual and reviewed with you word by word. Tests are conducted in English; if you would rather have an interpreter, we can arrange a professional one on a quote, or you can bring your own independent professional interpreter rather than a friend or relative. Yes. The APCOA Paddington Station Car Park is the best option, and it is paid. Paddington Central is outside the central London Congestion Charge zone, but the ULEZ covers the whole of Greater London, so check your vehicle before you set off. Given the choice, take the Bakerloo line and skip all of it.
Talk to us before you book. We agree what the issue is, one issue, and who is to be tested; each person attends voluntarily, signs their own consent and agrees their own questions in their own pre-test interview. Theft investigation tests are £548 per person, with a reduced rate when several people test on the same day. Most of what a theft examination does in practice is clear people, which lets you stop watching your staff and look at where the money actually went.
Nothing unusual. Sleep as you normally would, eat as you normally would, and take any prescribed medication as normal, then tell the examiner about it. Do not drink alcohol the night before, and do not read up on techniques for beating the test: they do not work, and they make the charts harder to score, which helps nobody, least of all an honest examinee.
