The examiner explained what that meant, and what it did not, to them both before they left the building, and the written report followed the next day. It was not the answer she had hoped for, but it was an answer, and the year of asking stopped.
Bring photo ID and your confirmation email, which tells you what to say at reception. If a business is booking for a member of staff, the person tested still attends voluntarily and signs their own consent: the issue is agreed with the employer, the questions with the person in the chair. Whoever comes with you waits in reception; during the test itself only you and the examiner are in the room.
By train: the Elizabeth line runs direct from Stratford to Paddington in around 20 minutes, no changes, and the same line does the same job from Maryland, Forest Gate and Manor Park. At Paddington, use the exit next to the Circle and District line exit; the office is a short walk from there.
By car: crossing central London by road is rarely worth it; the Elizabeth line is faster than driving at any time of day. If you must drive, the best parking is the APCOA Paddington Station Car Park (paid). Paddington Central is outside the Congestion Charge zone; the ULEZ covers all of Greater London, so check your vehicle.

The whole appointment takes around 90 minutes; allow two hours. It starts with the pre-test interview: your situation, the exact wording of the questions, your rights and written consent. Then the examination itself, recorded throughout and running to three or more charts, with only you and the examiner in the room during the test. Before you leave, your examiner explains the preliminary result and what the report will contain; the full report with the charts follows within 24 hours.
Yes. Records are handled under UK GDPR, correspondence is discreet, and the result goes to the person named on the consent form and nobody else. We keep no public client list and never discuss cases, which in a city this connected is precisely the point.
Sometimes. The booking page shows live availability and short-notice weekday slots do come up. Pay and the slot is confirmed that second, with preparation notes by email. From Stratford you can be at Paddington within the hour, so a morning booking for an afternoon slot is realistic when one is showing. Same-day bookings are paid in full, because the deposit option applies only to appointments more than three days away.
Yes. The employer books and pays, or you book and they reimburse you; either way you attend voluntarily, sign your own consent, and agree the questions with the examiner before anything is recorded. Nobody can be made to take a polygraph test, and a test taken under pressure is not one we will run. The result goes to whoever is named on the consent form, and you will see that form before you sign it.
Not at the office: tests at Paddington run Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm. If your shifts make a weekday daytime impossible, our sister service Home Polygraph tests at your home in the evening and at weekends. Booking enquiries are answered 24/7 either way.
